I think a lot of people make the mistake to only visit Amsterdam. It is a beautifull city make no mistake, but it is not the only city in the Netherlands and it certainly does not give you the full Dutch experience. You could go by train and visit another city like Haarlem(15 minutes by train), Leiden(30-40 minutes), Delft(1 hour) or The Hague(50 minutes). Check this site for the best train connection
