I'm having an argument with a person, but, unfortunately, I don't have many means to prove my point.
Maybe I'm just wrong, but I would like to verify with you guys: I'm sure you know better than me about A'dam!
So, to explain the argument…
I remember that months ago a friend of mine told me about some book about Amsterdam.
The book wasn't an attack against the city, but some kind of collection about less known things about the city.
One of these things are that, apparently, the city lays on garbage. I suppose the new part of the city.
I know that houses are build on piles, but I suppose that cavities are filled with this garbage.
I don't know what kind of garbage we are talking about (maybe is nothing dangerous).
…and I don't even know the title of the book for reference.
So, is that true?
]]>The link between Amsterdam and the United States is etched in history and since we just celebrated the 400th year of this bond, it is most important to put O'Reilly in his place.
To anyone who understands history, Amsterdam's gift to the world was New Amsterdam, which begat New York City. This is wonderfully described in Russell Short's great book, The Island at the Center of the World.
To those who attribute what Bill O'Reilly said to Right-wing Americans, I have to insist that he does not represent the views of anyone in America, except himself, and the fact that he is a loudmouthed egotist who doesn't mind making a fool of himself on television should not be ignored. What should be ignored is O'Reilly.
Amsterdam is one of the world's most beautiful cities. Its people are wonderful and energetic. The vibe there is positive and friendly.
But, let's not let the secret out. I wouldn't want a lot of tourists to ruin it.

It's so sorry that most tourist don't even bother to go to amstedam north!
And it's so easy to get to the northern parts of Amsterdam.
Just take the FREE ferry. They can be found at the back of the Central station.
And if you don't like the to visite the northern parts you just take the next ferry back and enjoy the free boat-trip.

Amsterdam central station, to catch the last train to Rotterdam.
so take that train and and don't come back!!
the restaurant "the burger bar" between the nieuwedijk and de kolk is one of my favorite places to eat in amsterdam!!
and offcourse vondelpark is a great place tobe in the summer!

and also all the american looking at sexshops and forgetting that most of it comes from the USA

Definately the 9 little streets in de 'jordaan' area.
Its full with the greatest vintage/2nd hand shops, yet to be discovered young talented designers and the best coffee & lunch places with very reasonable prices.
Im sorry to disapoint you but the 9 straatjes is not the jordaan. De jordaan stops at the rozengracht. De jordaan is inbetween the haarlemmerhouttuinen, de Singel, de Rozengracht and de Singelgracht. How ever, ur right, it is a very nice area. Thats for sure
Me, on the other hand, I love amsterdam north, The old ships warfs, Cafe het sluisje, de nieuwerdammerdijk. It's so sorry that most tourist don't even bother to go to amstedam north!
