Bill O’ Reilly is too fucking stupid for words!
4.06 min. Lady: “40 % of people in the USA compared to 22.6 % in the Netherlands.” Bill: “The way they do the statistics in the Netherlands is different + it’s a much smaller country it’s a much smaller base.” … DAMN!!
I LOVE Amsterdam! I have travelled there many, many times for business & pleasure. I feel very safe there–safer sometimes than my own hometown of Boston. The Dutch are wonderful people, and it’s a cultural mecca. It’s also one of the most beautiful, pituresque cities on earth.
But you can’t deny the fact that the City is becomming more socially consertative–the cleaning up of De Wallen, closing some of the coffeeshops–with the stated reason being that these things cause organized crime to flourish–which is one of Bill’s points.
The shocking thing is how many americans will watch this and believe it. Next he may say we have WMD’s in Holland and than they will attack us (bye the way, they already have a law that authorizes the use of military force to liberate any American or citizen of a U.S.-allied country being held by the [International Criminal] court, which is located in The Hague)
Bill is the perfect example of a narrow minded American citizen who beleaves that only the USA matters. And he has to draw the right conclusions of the facts!!! Instead he draws groundless conclusions and trys to maintain his right which he doesn’t have at all in this clip. And take a few lessons in maths for obvious reasons!!!
He should, for example, look at the statistics of the amount of people (per million) in the USA that are or have been in prison and compare that to the numbers in The Netherlands.
The conclusion will lead him to shut his mouth about the crime-numbers in The Netherlands!!!
Are we in for yet another defense of liberalism? Obviously, take whatever this american journalist says with a pinch of salt. By and large, do that with what just about any american says about overseas countries for that matter. But, if you defend the town by raving about predominantly leftist policies on drugs, prostitution and other ‘liberal’ phenomena, you yourself better not apply for any journalistic vacancy in the future as, in that case, you seem to maintain the good old romantic, albeit unrealistic view on the human misery caused by money-driven, seedy business. We’ve already gone beyond that point I am happy to say.
How anyone likes to listen to Bill’s nonsense, is a mystery to me. It does show how ignorant and simplistic your thinking is, when you ACTUALLY believe what he is saying. Percentages, smaller base ?? REALLY ??..
Unfortunately, this resonates with many americans who never had the chance to even spend a few days outside of their own country to find out what kind of skewed picture they have had to listen to.
And I know, I live here in the US as a Dutchman amongst them.
